The time period of Huckleberry Finn is the 1890's, so it was when slavery was considered okay.
The story is told by a 12 year old in the 1890's, so there are a lot of words that he uses that we don't use today, including the "N" word, and everything that goes on is from the perspective of a child, so some things are more exaggerated, or unrealistic than if it were told by an adult. It's also more humorous.
Huckleberry Finn: Chapters 5-11
Pap locked up Huck because he is drunk and wants Huck's money. He is also still mad at Huck from arguing about Huck's education.
okay.
an ablolitionist is someone who supports slavery, so Huck probably dosent want to be compared to someone who suports something as awful as slavery. But i really don't know.
boy being girl- deep voice, hairy legs, height/figure
Girl being boy- voice, feminin parts, personality Huck being a Girl- he said his fake name wrong, almost hit a rat with lead, and lastly he admitted hes not a woman but a boy named george.
Huckleberry Finn: chapters 12-16
The story of king solomon and his child is about two women that both have babies. the 1st mom takes good care of her child, the 2nd mom acciently kills her child be rolling o top of him in the night. so the 2nd mom steals the 1st moms baby and then the 1st mom tries to get him back but the 2nd mom lies and says its hers. so they go to King Solomon to explain the situation and have him decide who gets the baby. the Kings idea was to cut the child in half so the women both get the baby. the 2nd mom was fine with that because it wasn't her baby to start with, but the 1st mom says that shed rather give the baby to the 2nd mom so that her baby wouldn't die. King Solomon then gives the child to the First mom.
Jim considers King Solomon a fool for wanting to cut the child in half.
The way jim reacted proves that he dosnt like practical jokes and has no sense of humor, he likes to trust people. i don't feel like there is anything wrong with jim.
Huckleberry Finn: chapters 17-21
they are a very sweet and welcoming family, unless you are a Sheperdson. they seem like a nice family
it will probably help Huck in the future
sad because huck is mourning the loss of Buck
Huckleberry Finn: chapters 22-26
because it will attract male audiences
(a. & b.) because the duke and the king are realistic, their is no point in telling Jim because they are pretty much the same as a real duke and king
its embarrassing or sickening
because he's smart
because its greedy and dishonest
Huckleberry Finn: chapters 27-30
like as a last moment with their loved ones
becasuse they are most likely to die withen the two weeks
a tatoo
Huckleberry Finn: chapters 31-35
Huck lied to god and himself about making better choices, when he went to pray no words came to him because you cant pray a lie
because he didn't want to hurt Jim
Because it says a lot about Tom
That humans aren't sensitive when it comes to others and that our conscious doesn't always make sense, so it doesn't really matter
because it will be less expected
Huckleberry Finn: chapters 36-40
Toms motivation is Huck's friendship, and Huck's motivation is Jim's friendship
They are dropping clues to lead em astray
To get Jim back
because Huck's elaborate schemes aren't very clever
well this time period is very racist, so i guess you could say that what huck is trying to say is that Jim isn't the stereotypical black man, he's much like huck, they are friends
Huckleberry Finn: chapters 41-end
Huck feels this way because he's been nothing but a stinker and she's being kind to him, so its kinda hitting him hard that she is being so nice because he feels he doesn't deserve it
Yes we can come to an understanding about Jim, we learn that Jim is just all together a good man and doesn't care about racial issues
When tom woke up he said that Miss Watson died two months ago and that her will stipulated that Jim should be set free, this shows that Tom cares for Jim too
I think that huck is just a kid. by that i mean that sometimes he acts like stinker and doesn't realize when he's being rude, but at the end of the day he has a big heart. He's just like any other young boy.
